Stanford in the Vale - A Bumblebee Emergency
by Kathryn Noon
The story is a simple message to children (and their adult readers) about the importance of growing nectar-rich flowers in their gardens or whatever space is available. With the dramatic decline of bumblebees and many other insects in recent years, small actions by enough people can make a huge difference.
A keen hobbyist in textile art, Kathryn produced the illustrations using appliqué together with hand and machine embroidery. An enthusiastic gardener and lover of nature, her inspiration for this book came from viewing so many flowerless gardens while house hunting.
